Immigrant Hugh Kaighin settled in LeRoy Twp, Lake County, Ohio in 1827.

Hugh changed his name to Hugh Carn and his children carried that name.

James or Charles Carn

This photo was taken at a studio in Faulkton, South Dakota where James lived until his death.

But it was labelled “Great Uncle Charlie Kaighin” by Jan’s Grandmother Elfie (Perkins) Lawler.

Charles Carn lived his entire life in LeRoy Township, Ohio and died there in 1921.

Susannah Carn and John Orlando Hopkins

Susannah was born in 1833 in LeRoy, married John Orlando Hopkins In 1851 in

Painesville, Ohio and died in 1918 in Janesville, Wisconsin.
