Elinor Kaighin als Quay als Cowiles, GERMAN, 1771

In the name of God Amen the last will and testament of Elinor Kaighin als Quay als Cowiles of Peeltown who departed this life the 1st day of May 1771 being at perfect mind and memory at the making hereof. FIRST - She committed her soul to God and her body to Christian Burial. SECONDLY - She left and bequeath to her son Wm Kaighin all her right of that intack that lies between John Cubbons garden and Thomas Craine's garden and she also left her said son two pewter dishes, a cubboard and chair in lieu of twenty shillings that her said son Wm had given at the death of his father. THIRDLY - She left and bequeath unto her daughter May Addy her cloak a black and white gown, a petty coat, two black hudds and half of her best head close.

FOURTHLY - She left and bequeath unto her daughter Ann Kaighin the featherbed and bed close that she lay on at the making of this will.  She also left unto her said daughter a little wheel, two gowns, a petty coat, bed gown, checkered apron and the other half of her best head close. FIFTHLY - She left and bequeath unto her daughter-in-law, Mary Kaighin, all the remainder of her wearing apparel of what kind soever save and except a cloak she left unto her son Henry Quay. LASTLY - She constituted nominated  and appointed her said son Henry Quay whole and sole executor of all the rest of her effects movable and immovable of what kind and nature soever excluding and debaring all other person or persons claiming or pretending any right in her effects with six pence legacy.

 

Witnesses present:  Catherine Kaighin my X and Ann Cowile my X.

At Chapter Court holden at Peeltown 7th June 1772 the executor is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies vizt: Wm Lace and Wm Clark junr both of Peeltown.
