Follow this
number up one generation to the parent family.
The first entry in each family grouping is the marriage record. So the Corresponding Family number will be
the family that the father of that family came from. -
“UNKNOWN”
means no link to the previous generation found. |

Child Family |
Follow this number down one generation to the child
family. |

First Name |
Self
explanatory. I’ve conventionalized all
names to avoid duplicity and ambiguity.
It also helps when sorting the data if all like names are spelled the
same. Example, Elizabeth, Beth, Liz,
Lizzie, etc., are all spelled - A side
note about the surnames John and Joseph.
Prior to about the middle of the 19th century, I could find

There is a discrepancy with this family. Neither of the children has a mother listed
in the IGI entries, so the marriage is assumed to be that which occurred nine
years earlier in Kirk German between Henry and Joney. The father’s name is listed in both
christening entries. The marriage entry
shows Henry born “About 1686, Of Kirk German”.
In the below family (the child family of Charles above) there is a note
that suggests Charles’ mother’s name was Margaret Tear.
