Phillip Kaighin, 1818

In the name of God Amen.

I Phillip Kaighin of Moaney voar in the parish of KK German being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do make this my last will and testament in

manner as follows.

First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.

Item I leave and bequeath to my father Philip(should be William) Kaighin one shilling as legacy.

Item I leave and bequeath to my sister Ellinor Kaighin one shilling as

legacy.

Item:  I leave and bequeath to my sister Isabela Kaighin a yellow silk

handkerchief as legacy.

Item I leave and bequeath to my daughter Ann Kaighin the sum of three pounds as legacy.

Lastly I constitute nominate and appoint  my loving wife Jane Kaighin

als Cowley whole and sole executrix of all the rest of my goods chattels and effects movable and immovable of what kind or denomination soever excluding and debarring all other claiming  friends at one shilling legacy each.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto ordered my mark to my name this the seventeenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighteen 17 March 1818.

At a Chapter Court holden at Mullin y chler 29 May 1818.

The executor is sworn in court in form of law and as guardian and supervisor of the child under age and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of the  will.

Know all men by these presents that I Ann Kaighin do hereby own and

acknowledge to have received from Patrick Kaighin (Step-Father) the sum of three pounds but the amount of a legacy bequeath to me in and by the will of my father Philip Kaighen which will was proved at an Eccl Court holden that 29 May 1818 and I do hereby desire that the said legacy be

and stand cancelled upon record.  As witness my subscription this 25th

August 1838.
