Will 1675 #58 Bride "Margt Kaighin Glantruan will. Bryde 75 November 17: The last will and testament of Margt Kaighin als Lace who
departed this life about the 17 of November 75 &c.
Imprimis, she committed her soule
to God and her body to Xtian burial. Item, she left
to the poore 3 quarts of meals and what more it pleaseth her Executors to give them. Item, she willed to
her son David Kaighin 4 pounds of money, a blanket and a sheet. Item, to
Margaret Teare legasy a
choice red petticoate & a keoxxx[?]. Item, to her
grandchild Kath:Kaighin
the second choice petticoat. Item, to Katherine aforesaid a westcoate the best which she had.
Item, to Anne Quxxxx a red petticoate.
Item, to Ellin Kaighin her grandchild a black cap
and handcherchiffe. Item, to Catherin
Cotter a red petticoate. Item, to Kath Lace a
choice chite coate or westcoate. Item, to her husband John Kaighin her part of
a heifer. Item, to Thomas Kaighin her son 5s which he owed to her & the
20s which he was to give to Gilbert & David Kaighin in consideraton for the 4th part of the crop of corne. Itme, she left her part
of the land in the Courough & Intack unto her son Thomas Kaighin until he got his money
he layd out for it. Item, to Pat Kaighin 13s which
she owed him of that 40s mentioned in his contract bargain all the rest was
paid him. Item, from Do:Xtin
Ballamyne 5xx for her part of a fishing boat. Item,
from Jo:Lace Ballakelly 20s. Item, due to her from Wm Teare 37s 6d. Item, she constituted her son Gilbert
Kaighin her sole Executor of all the rest of her goods moveable and unmoveable and to see her will honestly performed. Item,
more she bequesthed legacy to Pat Kaighin’s
children a sheep and a lamb. Item, to Tho:Kaighin’s children a sheep and a lamb; to each
witness 6d. Testes Ewan Xtin,
John Cowle, jurati; the Executor’s two sisters children and so noe
lawful witness. Margt Teare,
Joh:Lace, jurati. Note, all legacies discharged & paid xxxx David Kaighin. The Executor sworn in Court. Probatum et Solvit. This will is
not accepted of in Court till the other Executor sworn. The Inventory of the
said Testatrix prized by 4 sworn men amounts to 9 pounds 3 shillings 7 pence.
Item, vessels in the house 0:9:3. Item, to
William Teare hand for the crop 01:17:xx. The said Gilbert Kaighin
acknowledgeth to be fully satisfied and paid for the
37s 6d that was in William Creer hand for the crop.
