Will of Jony Lace als Kaighin

This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Jony Lace als

Kaighin of KK Andreas who departed this life the 24 of March 1714.

First She committed her soul to God and her body to Christian burial.

Item:  She bequeathed and left six pounds a piece to her three daughters.

Item:  To her son Andrew Lace forty shillings and to the witnesses a

petty coat a piece.

Item She appointed her husband sole executor of all the rest of her goods

movable and unmovable.

The executor is sworn in form of law.

Probatum est

 

Pledges to secure the office and pay all debts and legacies and John Lace

and William Saile in form of Law.

 

8 Feb 1716 Ellin Christian enters a claim against the executor of Jony

Lace alias Kaighin for 3 pounds which was paid by way of mortgage in

lands and craves the law.

 

Jan 14,1716

John Lace enters a claim against  the executor of his mother Joney Lace

after as much timber and deals as will compleat a quarter part of the

roofing, flooring, partioning, windows and door cases etc of an house of

nine or ten yards long according as his father and mother obliged themselves

by the marriage contract given by them unto their said son, and carves the

benefit thereof at such time as he shall think fit to build the said house

pursuant to the said contract.

 

Aug 13th 1750 Andrew Lace came this day to the Registry and acknowledged to

have rec'd the sum of two pounds from his father Danl Lace about 15 years

ago, being a legacy bequeathed to him by his mother, and he does hereby

acquit and discharge his said father his executors administrators and

assigns for the same.  Before me   Ja: Wilks Archdeacon Registry.
