In the name of God, Amen, the 31 day of May 1797. 

The last will and testament of JANE KAIGHIN (widow) who being sick and feeble in body but by the blessing of God of sound mind and memory at the making thereof. 

First, she committed her soul to God and her body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial. 

Also she left and bequeathed to her SON JOHN the sum of one guinea. 

Also, she left and bequeathed to her DAUGHTER JANE WIFE OF WILLIAM RADCLIFFE the sum of one guinea. 

Also she left and bequeathed to her GRANDDAUGHTER JANE SAYLE the sum of one guinea. 

Also, she left and bequeathed to her GRANDDAUGHTER ELLINOR DAUGHTER OF THOMAS KAIGHIN the best cloak she had. 

Also, she left and bequeathed to her DAUGHTER JANE RADCLIFFE aforesaid all the rest of her shaped apparel woolen and linen. 

Lastly, she left and bequeathed to her SON THOMAS KAIGHIN all the rest of her goods chattels and effects of whatsoever nature and denomination whom she also nominated constituted and assigned sole Executor of this her last will and testament the day and year first above written. 

 

Proclaimed pronounced and declared by the Testatrix as his last will and testament in presence of us the witnesses:

Thomas Corlett my mark X,

Robert Christian, jurati.          

                                   

AT A CHAPTER COURT HOLDEN at KK Michael June 19th 1798:

The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the Witnesses of the will.
